1. Pointe d'Immesouane
Good waves but rarely surfed.
2. Tamri-plage
Good beach break about 4 kms from the village. Check at low tide with
a small swell and off-shore winds.
3.
La Bouilloire
This consistent and powerful wave can be found just Sth of the lighthouse
of Cap Ghir. Easy parking and good overview. Big Boilers: take off in
front of the boil. Tricky getting in and out of the water Urchins.
4. Killer Point,
So named after the Killer whales
that can sometimes be found cruising around here. The wave
starts in front of a big rock and is best on the inside
and holds big time swells. Sheltered from N wind. Beware
the caves that face the waves. Slippery walking track.
5. La Source
On the inside of Mystery Point.
Small days only. Fresh water bubbles up from onshore rock
formations where you can rinse your face and wetsuit. Best at incoming tide on a medium
swell.
6. Mystery Point
Very sucky wave with small take
oft area best with a medium size swell. Travelling
surfers camp here on the cliffs.
7. Pointe des Ancres
Morocco's most famous wave needs
a big swell to break and while it gets crowded, the
atmosphere remains pretty friendly. Paddle out either
from the beach to the N (a long but safe paddle) on small days, or jump off the point (good timing is
crucial). Coming in, either paddle back to the
beach N, or surf down the point and paddle to the small
beach to the S. High tide can be very difficult coming in
over the rocks (many boards have snapped between rocks).
8. Hash Point
Nth beach in the village of
Taghazout. So named for the surfers who smoke too much
and can't be bothered to walk to Anchors.
9. Panoramas,
Fast and round wave breaking in
front of Panorama's bar/restaurant in the village of
Taghazout.
10. Banana Beach
Beach on the mouth of a dried-up
river at the village of Tamrhakht. Fun wave between 4-6 ft. Closes out at low tide and bigger
swells.
11. Le Rocher du Diable,
A tubby left worth checking,
2km Sth of Banana beach.
